Children’s Choirs

The children’s choirs of St. John, led byRozlyn Knudsvig, have a lot of fun singing, praying and playing together! Besides singing, the children also use instruments, sign language and other “props” (like hard hats!). Sound like fun? Come and join us for “rehearsal". Click here for a complete schedule.

Angel Choir (Age 4) Wednesday from 6:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Cherub Choir
(Age 5 - 2nd grade) Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Carol Choir (3rd - 6th grade) Wednesdays from 7:00 - 7:45 p.m.

Senior Choir

The St. John’s Senior Choir, led by Michael Stevenson, is an integral part of the worship service from Labor Day until the third Sunday in May. Choral anthems are chosen to enhance the text for the day. Strong music reading skills are not required for this choir; anthems are basically learned by note over a 2 or 3 week period.

Rehearsals are every Sunday at 9:15 a.m., and the choir sings during the 10:30 a.m. service on the first, fourth and fifth Sunday and at 8:00 am on the third Sunday of the month. The repertoire that the choir draws from includes all styles of traditional choral music. Anthems are selected for seasonal appropriateness, and connection with the texts of the day. Within a church year, this group manages to span the styles from pre-Bach to contemporary, gospel and jazz.

Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. This choir participates in worship services throughout the year, and for special services such as Easter, Christmas, etc. The Handbell Choir primarily consists of adults; however anyone with musical talent beyond the 4th grade is encouraged to join the group. Contact the church office for more information at 225-6747 or Director Carma Kulish at 483-8617.
