It can be challenging and will take time to make a new church feel like “home.” Our hope is that you will always feel welcomed to worship and encouraged to take part in the many programs St. John offers for adults, youth and children. All who are considering St. John as their church home are invited to join St. John through a three step process:
The first step is to attend a New Member Orientation Session; an introduction to St. John and the Lutheran faith. It is a chance for us to share with information with you about our congregation, it's ministry and a chance for you to ask any questions you might have about the church.
In the second step all new member families are invited to the New Member Welcome Luncheon. A casual comfortable meal with time for conversation and a special service project. New members will meet the staff and clergy, discover ways to take advantage of the opportunities to serve, and meet other new members. You will receive a welcome packet with a Bible, a directory of members, offering envelopes and other information. Please be prepared to be a part of a group photograph. Photos will then be posted to help the congregation begin to connect names and faces of our new members.
The third step is a New Member Sunday in which new members are welcomed to the family at St. John at the 10:30 worship service.
