MENTOR GROUPS
These groups meet throughout the school year with an adult member of our congregation. Groups engage in service projects, lessons, church visits and listen to guest speakers. Close relationships are formed as the group discusses topics learned in instructional class on a more personal level. We make every effort to form these groups with personal friends of the same gender to ensure a comfortable atmosphere for the group.
Incoming 7th grade students -
Please list friends in your grade (of the same gender) you would like to be in a mentor group with -
(we try very hard to put kids in groups that they are comfortable engaging in conversation)

Incoming 8th grade students -
You will remain with the same group you were in as a 7th grade student.
7th GRADE SERVER SCHEDULING
Please circle the service time which you typically attend. This will assist us in scheduling you for a time that you typically worship as a family. The 7th graders will serve from October 2008 - September 2009. If it is typical for a student to be gone over the summer, or if there are other special arrangements which may conflict, please note it here - ___________________________________________________________________________________
Sunday @ 8:00 a.m. Sunday @ 10:30 a.m. Thursday @ 7:00 pm
Students in seventh grade will learn about the church and how its members come together to serve each other and the community. As they learn, they will concentrate on serving on Sunday mornings. As eighth graders, they will serve in other areas of the church that interests them.
FAMILY SERVING OPPORTUNITIES
Eighth graders will serve on Sunday mornings - May through September. As they grow in their faith, they will also experience what it means to serve at St. John, and to others beyond our doors. We’d like students to be involved in 2 areas of ministry. Please mark your top 3 preferences - with “1" being your first choice in serving at St. John: (ex - Fred -1; Fred -2; Fred -3), and we will assign students to 2 of them.
We also encourage adults to be involved in the activities of St. John to strengthen the faith development of our families. Parents and students may sign up together for activities, or you may sign up individually.
An * denotes activities which require an adult - students cannot use these items as a preference. Please list the first name of the person(s) interested in each activity.
