Summer Confirmation Dates
Summer confirmation instruction will be offered for students from St. John Lutheran Church who are entering the 7th & 8th grades. The following classes will meet Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. on the following dates:
June 2 & 3: Old Testament - section one
June 9 & 10: Old Testament - section two
July 14 & 15: New Testament - section one
July 21 & 22: New Testament - section two
All of these classes will be repeated during the school year. Students who complete a class during the summer do not take it again during the school year.
Students are required to attend monthly mentor group meetings throughout the school year.
WORSHIP NOTES - Students are expected to worship regularly with an adult. We believe when a student worships with an adult who is significant in his or her life, faith becomes more meaningful and more relevant. To assist in their understanding of worship, we require that ten worship notes be completed by the end of the school year. The notes are intended to focus the attention of each student on various aspects of worship life.
Notes need to be signed by a parent or guardian. The parent/guardian should also help the student understand the questions on the worship note form and discuss their written responses. Forms are available on the Confirmation bulletin board in the Commons area or on the website.
**Students attending confirmation classes at St. John Lutheran Church must have a parent or a designated adult sponsor who is a member of St. John Lutheran Church. If a confirmation student is not baptized, a parent should contact a pastor about baptism.
**Students who attended Early Confirmation - Participation in the Early Confirmation program has prepared students for Junior High Confirmation; it does not exempt them from completing the Junior High program.
