NEW HYMN: We’re learning hymn #508, As Rain from the Clouds. The text was written by Sister Delores Dufner. She is the liturgy director for St. Benedict Monastery in St. Joseph, Minnesota.
BAPTIZED TODAY is Dylan Matthew Hanson, son of Jason & Lori Hanson. Sponsors are Jason Knight and Chad & Stacey Hanson. Baptized Thursday night was Lola Rayne Homiston, daughter of Jason & Kristy Homiston. Sponsors were Mick & Gayle Homiston, and KC & Autumn Homiston.
WELCOME TO WORSHIP: All the baptized are invited to the Lord’s Table. You may stand or kneel to receive the elements. We ask children who commune to extend their hands to receive the elements. Children who do not yet commune should have hands folded to receive a blessing from the pastors. You may ask a server to provide a gluten-free wafer or grape juice if needed.
THANK YOU to the Handbell Choir, directed by Carma Kulish, and to the Senior Choir, directed by Michael Stevenson, for providing music during worship. This is the last Sunday we’ll hear them until next fall.
WE LISTEN TO THE WORD: The Apostolic Greeting that follows the entrance hymn comes from 2 Corinthians 13:14 (the Second Reading). The words enfold the pastors, the people and God in a mutual expression of grace, love and communion. Together we hear that we are blessed by the Triune God through “the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit . . . ”
WE WORSHIP TOGETHER: Holy Trinity Sunday is one of six principal festival days in the church year. It is the only festival day which does not celebrate an historical event (i.e., resurrection, nativity, sending of the Spirit). Rather it celebrates the mystery of God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
WORSHIP INFORMATION: Attendance last week was 586 . . . Transmitters are available for the hearing impaired. Ask an usher for help . . . If it is uncomfortable for you to stand during the service, please feel free to remain seated . . . The nursery, located in the Commons Area, is staffed Sundays from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. for infants and children up to age four . . . Children’s bags are available during worship in the Commons Area and in the church entry . . .
THE MAY ISSUE of The Lutheran Magazine is available in the church entry and in the Commons Area.

The study is led by college student Jon Fuehrer, a 2006 DHS graduate, who says, “Going into college I had a lot of questions and doubts and through the first two years I have learned so much about life and about my faith. The reason I am excited about having this Bible study is because it gives me the opportunity to share those experiences with people who are going to be going through the same thing . . . Come and learn what it means to lead a Christ centered life from someone who is going through the same stage in life.” For more information contact Jon at jwfuehrer@gmail.com or Jess Throlson at jthrolson@stjohnelc.org.
