SUNDAY SCHOOL DIRECTOR: We welcome Susan Moberg to the St. John staff as our new Sunday School Director! Susan joined the congregation last fall with her husband, Kevin, and their three daughters: Suzanna, Abigail, and Hillary. Susan is the librarian at Trinity High School.

EASTER SUNDAY WORSHIP: Though Easter is a month away, because of time changes, we want you to know that Easter Sunday worship times will be 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. with the 11:00 a.m. service broadcast live over KDIX radio. There will be no 6:30 a.m. service on Easter Sunday. An Easter Brunch will be served from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m.

ADULT CLASS IN FEBRUARY: Pastor Tangen’s Sunday adult class meets at 9:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Room. You are invited to the ongoing study of the Old Testament book of Jonah.

HARVEST HOME DONATIONS: The Harvest Home provides housing for family and friends of patients during their stay at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The Senior High youth are seeking donations for the home. Items must be dropped off today!

FIRST COMMUNION: We welcomed Kaena Gartner and her brother Kacen Gartner to the Lord’s Table last Sunday.

PEW ENVELOPES: If you are a visitor or if you simply forgot your offering envelope and wish to designate your contribution, please use a pew envelope.

DELEGATES NEEDED FOR ST. LUKES: If you are interested in representing St. John Lutheran Church at the annual meeting of St. Luke’s Home on Saturday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m., please contact the church office (225-6747 or olheiser@stjohnelc.org)

RAISING FUNDS FOR A NEW GARAGE: This summer, we are hoping to construct a new garage and shop that replace the existing garage that is almost 40 years old. The new garage is needed to provide better security for the yard equipment, and additional storage space is needed to the equipment. To fund the $20,000 project, we already have $12,000 in a dedicated account for capital improvements to the church property. Our goal is to raise another $8,000 by April 30. You’ll be receiving an offering envelope for contributions to the garage fund in the coming week.

BELIZE: Have you ever stopped to think about what your strengths and weaknesses are? Are you using your strengths to be a better disciple? These are some of the questions our mission trip youth are considering this month. Romans 12 tells us that each of us have been given gifts and abilities. How have you used yours this week?

LAST BIBLE CAMPER FUND RAISER: The last fund raiser for kids attending Bible camp starts today! You can pick up your Butter Braid forms on the bulletin board in the Commons Area. They must be returned by Sunday, March 9. Don’t forget to pick up your Bible Camp brochure! FAMILY SUNDAY SCHOOL: Families are invited to attend Sunday School together next Sunday (Mar. 2) in the basement from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.

WELCOME to the Lord’s Table. All the baptized are invited to receive the Sacrament. You may stand or kneel to receive the elements. Children who commune may extend their hands; those who don’t yet commune should have hands folded and they will receive a blessing. Gluten-free wafers are available for those who cannot have wheat products. White grape juice is available for those who cannot have wine. Let a pastor or server know when communing.

INTERESTED IN JOINING THE CONGREGATION? Contact one of the pastors or Faith Simonieg in the church office (225-6747). New members will be received on Sunday, Apr. 13 at the 10:30 a.m. service.

THURSDAY MIDWEEK LENTEN WORSHIP: The preaching topic for the 7:00 p.m. Thursday Midweek Lenten services is Life’s Transitions. Feb. 28 Chris Hartman, From Life to Death.
Mar. 6 Laney Herauf, Leaving Home for College
Mar. 13 Russ Murphy, To Change Jobs or Not?

Sunday morning sermons from the pastors will also focus on Life’s Transitions based on the Lenten Bible texts.

Account Manager for Brenntag Pacific, Inc. He has two sons, Ryan, who lives and works in Minneapolis, and Tyler who lives in Bismarck, and is a junior in college.
